I cleared OCPJP 6.0

Thanks to Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates for their book on SCJP 6 . That was the best material to help me for the same.

I also used sites like
1. http://nikojava.wordpress.com/
2. http://scjptest.com/

to get some mock questions..

Now I am planning for SCWCD. I hope that will be the correct path to take. Correct me if I am wrong.

Should I first take SCJD and then go for SCWCD??

The only material I found suitable for SCWCD is Head First Servlets and JSP Edition 2. Can anyone give the link to download its PDF?? And any other material for the same??

Hi Hiral,

Congratulations!

Next certification obviously depends on your interest, but I would suggest to go for OCMDJ (formerly known as SCJD).

Reason is simple :
1) Since you are SCJD, OCMJD is the only remaining certification for Core Java.
2) Once you are done with OCMJD, you can focus on Java Enterprise Edition.

I myself did it in SCJD, SCWCD and OCMJD order, but switching from Core Java to JEE to again Core Java (and again to JEE since I'll be doing EJB certification) is unnecessarily troublesome. Better is - finish one branch (Core Java) and then go for JEE.

All the best!

Thank you

Can you also suggest how do I prepare for SCJD. I guess it requires writing of code and performance of the same is checked.

Any material to prepare for OCMDJ (or SCJD)?? Or any web-links for the same??

Apart from coding capabilities, only 2 things are required:
1) Andrew MonkHouse's book for SCJD (it is for JDK 5.0, but that doesn't matter). A very useful book.
2) SCJD forum on coderanch. There you'll find lot of doubts already answered.

SCJD requires training from Oracle as suggested here : http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=321.

Is it really necessary to take the training?
Was this the same way when it was with Sun (prior Oracle)?

Yes.

No.

If you have any SCJD/OCMJD questions, please ask them on SCJD forum.
