Spring Security

Hello All,

I am evaluating Spring Security framework. In one blog I read that it provide security for all Spring based application. Is it mean that if I develop my application using other framework then I can't use it for security purpose?
Also it will be helpful if some one can provide some useful link for pro and cons of it.
