Beta exam OCJP II will be $56. Yes you will get exam results instantly for OCJA I exam. I got this from oracle website Duration: 150 minutes, Number of Questions: TBD, So they haven't released that information yet. Good Luck !!!

Hi,
I went to the Pearson VUE Examination Centre all prepared to give the exam. But, the supervisor checked against the exam code with my Candidate ID and told me that I can give this exam only after 17th March 2012 since the exam has not yet officially released and will be released for students to appear only after 17-03-12. On the other hand, the Oracle Education site means something completely different for the exam by saying that the exam is a "Beta" exam and the results will be published on 7th February 2012.
This is really confusing and disheartening. Please help!

The exam was open in beta until the middle of December or so, for the $50 or so price tag mentioned in the other posts. During this beta, there are a lot more questions posted (150 vs 90 for the actual exam). It's basically a data-gathering phase...after the beta closes Oracle looks at the exam questions, decides which ones are too hard, or too easy, or confusing and removes them. The beta exams are then graded using only the questions that make it into the production exam.

The OCJP (Java SE 7 Programmer II 1Z1-804) will be coming open for beta shortly. That exam will also be $50; however you need the OCJA exam passed to take the OCJP.

I totally agree with Abbas even I got the same answer whereas Oracle website was showing that 90 questions needs to be answered with passing score of 75%.

Hi Guys,
Just to clarify... Head First Java is meant to be an introduction to Java - it was never intended to be a certification book. Our book (called K&B around here) is geared for certification and you can find a link to it at the top of this forum.
