want the offset of the string in a file,How?

Hi,
I am using the getFilePointer method of RandomAccessFile to get the offset of the string, but it returns the current file pointer (offset). I have a string like "moov" in a file, i want to get the offset of this string in a file, also the position of "moov" is change every time. So how can i move this pointer to string in a file and get the offset of this string "moov" in a file.
