getting image height of previous image

I am creating an image gallery. The code is below.

The last line of code prints the image height of previous image, not the one set in the previous line.

var myImg = document.getElementById('imgid');
myImg.src = newImgPath;
alert(myImg.height);

Any clue to solve this problem!

Because it has not loaded yet. You need to use the onload event.
