This week's book giveaway is in the Agile and other Processes forum. We're giving away four copies of The Mikado Method and have Ola Ellnestam and Daniel Brolund on-line! See this thread for details.
i keep a check on my posts so i can jump in and be helpful (ok yes I am that bored at work)
i see nobody has added anything new so return to work (hopefully the build has finished).
but when I check my email loads of posts have been added to.

In which way are you proposing to "fix" that page? Taking a look at my page, I can see in which topics someone else has posted after me (which is presumably what you're interested in ... ?)
it doesn't always work, for example there is a thred called file in java in general, which my posts claimed was last updated the 13th Feb. It was in fact last updated today. When I just went back into my posts, it now says last updated 11 Feb

The “file” thread shows last post as “Today 12:58:45” on my browser. That’s GMT.
Your right it does.
watch just lists threads you get emails for.
so can I change my post to, can we have the functionality I was trying to use "my posts" for.
The problem is my email on here is my hotmail account, which I don't want to open at work.
yes, when you contribute to a thread an automatic watch gets added.
but the watch page, just lists these threads, doesn't provide any status about the thread, last post time, or poster.
Here is the detail from the "bookmarks and watches" page, I am using <> to show buttons.
[Post]custom tag and getAttribute <Edit> <Delete>

I thought that only applies of you have that option activated in your profile. You obviously do. I don’t myself.
I forget what options I have set, and I presume your inbox would overflow with messages if you had it set.

Click on “my profile” then the preferences tab. Then you can review your options.
I delete enough e-mails saying “you have a PM from useless b*gg*r on JavaRanch telling you his name is all right” already, so as you say, I keep a lot of options turned off.
