Looking for any Java developer role

I am a British national and I studied engineering in school, I have been trying unsuccessfully to do a career change for 8 years now.
I managed to get Sun certified at the beginning of this attempted change but I have not been able to get a job!

I am now completing my MSc in Information Technology

but my fortunes hasn't changed.

Nobody wants to give you a job if you dont have work experience, how can anyone get on the ladder?
My certifications didnt get me anywhere.

Sun certified java programmer 2004
Sun certified web component developer 2005
