If I want to attempt SCJP 1.5,will it be possible now ? why Iam asking is we have SCJP 1.6/1.7 now.

Yes. OCPJP 5 is still there, but since there's no prerequisite for OCPJP 5 and 6, I don't know why one should consider studying for (much) older version of Java.
OCPJP 7 does have prerequisite (OCAJP 7 or any previous version of OCPJP). So, if time/money is your concern, I would suggest to go for OCPJP 6.
