i have an HTML page with some graphs on it. What i want to do is write an on-load javascript function, that will read values from an excel sheet, store them in variables and use those on the html page. My question is are there any javascript APIs that deal with excel sheets as in parse values from excel sheet cells??

Where did the data on charts come from database or client?

Where was the processing of charts done server side or browser?

It is better to have it read on the server and spit out a format that JavaScript can handle.

There is no cross browser way to access Excel with JavaScript. IE has activex ways, but it requires proper security settings on the user's computer.
