but its a mobile industry and things move pretty fast there.
we can't predict whats gonna happen to Android five years down the line.
good thing is that Google is backing up the Android so you can assume minimum guarantee about its future.
but you should always be flexible and ready to shift in mobile industry.
All the best for your placements

Thanks for the info, I am a newbie and is interested in mobile game development on Android. What should be the approach to start coding for Android, is it necessary to first master all the aspects of java and then go for Android development? Will getting SCMAD help in Android app development?
I am in complete dark in this case, kindly guide

You need not be master in all the aspects but should be good at basics. You get a plug in for eclipse which includes development environment for android . the plug in also includes the simulator to test the developed app.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html
getting SCMAD and all wont do much . in mobile industry you need to be smart enough to figure out what mobile users looking at like the kind of functionality they need ,kind of GUI they need . if You ask me instead of preparing for SCMAD, install the plug in and start developing the simple apsp and try to figure out what your mobile lacks that you needed .thats the way you can prosper in mobile world.
Happy Android Development
