FileUpload in struts.

I need to use the org.Apache.commons.file.upload.ProgressListener in my struts action to show the file upload progress in the client side. I saw the example with DWR but in our project we are not suppose to use the DWR for some reason. Can any body have any idea how to display the file uplaod progress with struts. Thanks in advance
