Hi,
This question is for the users for eBook for Practice Exams. We are thinking of developing eBook/Kindle version of our Mock Exam Simulator and I am wondering how do you use it. I mean, let's say you are taking a practice test. Now, there is no way to automatically store or evaluate your answers. So only option seems to be that you select the options for the current question in your head. Then immediately check the answer and see if you selected the right options. Then go back to the next unsolved questions.

Assuming that you are using Kindle/iPad kind of device, how convenient do you find this mode of study?

Would really appreciate any feedback

thank you,
Paul.

That will be good if my answers are stored and evaluated when I am done with the mock exam. When I worked on the master exam from KB's book. I chose the have an open book mock exam. I answered a question. It returns "incorrect". Then, I click on the reference button to check answer.

In KB's master exam, we have two options "open book" and "closed book". "Open book" option does not time us. We can check answer right away. But for "closed book", we can still do that, but we have a timer to count down our time.
So, if we want to know the report, we will have to restart the exam in open book option.

For the mock exam simulator, we can have all answers with explanations at the end.

Thank you for the response, Helen.

Just so I understand you correctly, when you say, "It returns incorrect", you mean you are going to check yourself whether you picked the correct options, right? The book can't tell you whether you answered correctly or not.

I am not sure what you mean by closed book or open book. My understanding of open/close book exam is that in an open book exam, one can refer to other books while trying to answer a question. Do you mean something else?

Also, when you say "if we want to know the report, we will have to restart the exam in open book option.", who generates the report? AFAIK, there is no s/w running on the book that keeps track of how much time has elapsed or how many questions you answered correctly. So you mean, you keep track of all this on a separate piece of paper?

thank you!

I thought you are talking about mock exam simulator.
I installed the software on my computer and run the simulator. When I made a mistake, there is a messag "incorrect" showing on the screen, so that I can click on the "reference" book to check answer.
This kind of mock exam simulator is interactive.

In eBook, can we have this kind of interactive mock exam simluator?
In eBook, is there any timer to time the exam?

I am thinking of the possiblity to install practice exam simulator software in Kindle.
That will be more interesting to make the practice exam more interactive, just like taking the real exam.
But if it is not possible to install any software in Kindle, the simplest way is to put all questions in one exam. Readers write down their choices on a paper, and read the answer at the end of the exam.

I downloaded a pdf copy of the practice exam online. I printed them out to work on the practice exams.
