I can't figure out how to install java jdk 7
I have downloaded the required files but don't know how to install it

I have downloaded the jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe file I clicked on it to run it said it installed but i couldn't use it.

i read somewhere that you need to do something with a bin directory and the PATH environment variable but i dont know what

Yes, you should add the path of your jdk's bin folder to the PATH variable. Search for PATH variable on our forum and I'm sure you'll find a thread that explains how to do it.
