I have installed weblogic 10.3. I could run my application using localhost or 127.0.01, but not with my ip address.

in host file(C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc),
127.0.0.1 localhost

The following url does not work(my ip address which is masked = 133.133.xxx.xx)
http://133.133.xxx.xx:7001/myapplication/myproject/request.jsp

But it works for the followin urls

http://localhost:7001/myapplication/myproject/request.jsp
http://127.0.0.1:7001/myapplication/myproject/request.jsp

When i replace localhost with my ip address, it does not work. Can you please assist me with resolution?
Please be noted that in my admin console, I could see
Home >Summary of Servers >myserver-->general
Listen Address:localhost
Listen Port:7001

Is this because of my local machine configuration or oracle weblogic installation configuration?

adding a few facts

I tried to run my application using weblogic 8.1 on my machine.

I could run my application using localhost/127.0.0.1/my ip address

http://localhost:7001/myapplication/myproject/request.jsp
http://127.0.0.1:7001/myapplication/myproject/request.jsp
http://133.133.xxx.xx:7001/myapplication/myproject/request.jsp

All of the above urls worked.

I opened my admin console for weblogic 8.1, i could see the following
Listen Address: kept it blank
Listen Port:7001

First check whether your machine is configured for the IP address you are trying.
Try to ping it from other machine .
Try to nslookup for the same IP address.

If both the results are positive, means that your machine is configured for the IP address, follow the below steps :

Log on to the Admin Server Console of Weblogic Server : http://localhost:7001/console

Then go to the Servers >>> Admin Server >>>

Check for the listen address, if it is localhost then change it to the IP address.

If you want to make both the localhost and the IP address working then make listen address as : all address available .

What do you mean by this? what all address available?? I did this and got security violation exception while starting the server!

Then I modified listen address field ( admin console) to blank from localhost, now it started to work with localhost,127.0.01,ip address and machine name. perhaps, I forgot to take notice of this entry while I was installing weblogic10.3.
