Web based report template designer

Hi There!

I want to develop a web application, that will be used to design report templates. A grid based UI will
be provided to the user, where he can drag and drop some predefined data attributes. The attributes
will have properties which can be modified by the user like font type, font size, x, y coordinates. Once he is done,
based on the design done an HTML output will be generated and sent to the server.

Any pointers how to achieve this. I am more interested in designing the UI part.

Thanks in advance.

That designer would probably have to be built in HTML, probably created by servlets and JSPs. That means that this isn't the right forum to ask this question. I'll move this thread to our HTML and JavaScript forum, since those are what you should be using a lot.

ExtJS helps to build grids easily. It is a javascript library.
