Need help regarding Spring Web Services

Hi,

I am deploying a sample application using Spring WS, I am new to Spring WS.
In implementation i am seeing a new Endpoint class that the service provider has to implement, for parsing the requests.

Is it mandatory to implement this class, can we ignore implementing by providing some jaxb configuration in spring xml file ?
is it an advantage or disadvantage to have an explicit mapping class for endpoints ?

Thanks,
Ravikanth.
