how to track the system activities with java?

hi, i want to make the application that will get the system activities like a event viewer in the Window system. Does anyone have any idea what are the things i need to learn with package API does i have to know? thanks

You probably won't be able to perform low-level system calls (i.e. Windows API - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_API) with a pure Java approach. You would have to use C, C++, Assembler or other low-level language to do that. However you can then "link" your Java code with your custom functions (i.e. your custom C++ functions compiled into a DLL file) via JNI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_Native_Interface).
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
