(*) What is the difference between ActionMessage & ActionError?
(*) In which scenarios they are good for?

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go !!!

  • ActionError is a subclass of ActionMessage.
  • ActionError is deprecated in Struts Version 1.2 and above, with the recommendation that you use ActionMessage instead.

Use ActionError in Struts 1.1 or 1.0 Applications. Use ActionMessage in Struts 1.2 or above applications.
