Configuring app url with welcome-file

I followed the example from the spring forums (JSF, Webflow, Spring MVC) to updating my app to use these technologies. It works perfectly, however, when I try to access server/webservername/ it redirects me to server/webservername/app/home -> where home is the correct view. I want to remove the /app/ path in this url, but cannot figure out how to set this up correctly. My web.xml has the Spring MVC Dispatcher Servlet with url-pattern /app/*, but when I remove this from the url-pattern I get the message No mapping found for HTTP request with URI [/webservername/app/home] in DispatcherServlet.

Does anyone know where it gets specified to look for app/home instead of just home? My index.html has a redirect that I changed from app/home to just home.

If you need more information don't hesitate to ask.

The tutorial I used was the webflow-primefaces-showcase.

Also, I'm using Tomcat 7.

I turned on log4j debugging and found that it processes the GET request for [/webservername/app/home] even though I think that I've removed everywhere that references /app

Solution: Clear the browser cache -_-
