Training course for Java Architect and book

Hi All,

I have the following question for OCMJEA (formely known as SCEA):

Q.1 Now Oracle made the training necessary for OCMJEA .

Can we take the training in the end and finish the part 1 (multiple choice ), part 2 (assignment) , part 3 (essay exam) earlier ?

or without completing the training course we can not go for the part 1, part 2 and part 3 ?

Q.2 What is the best book to prepare for this exam ?

You can finish all Parts of the exam without going through training, In fact you get even the results of the assignment as well. Only if you require hard copy of the certificate then you need to go through the training. Correct me if I am wrong.

Mark Cade's second edition is the best book for these exams.

This is correct as of now. Oracle can change it at anytime and decide not to grade parts 2 and 3 without a course.

The hard copy of the certificate isn't important. You also don't get to be "really" certified.
