Minimum Score in SCEA assignment

Good Morning everyone. I just got my assignment score report and I am a little confuse.

It says I got a 118, but failed (the passing score is 114). I believe it has some to do with minimal punctuation in some session, but I am not sure it is the case, and if so, what that minimal punctuation would be.

My results are:

Question (essay part III): 16 of 24
Class diagram: 34 of 40
Component diagram: 23 of 40
Deployment Diagram: 21 of 24
Interaction: 13 of 16
Technical risks: 11 of 16

Can anybody help me to clarify this? Thanks!

I think you lost in Component Diagram, minimum score for Component Diagram is 26.

Have you followed Cade's sample diagram?
Have you indicated all three tier components if involved in your application?
Do your application interact with third party vendor?
Have you mentioned anything about assumed components in the application like security, internationalization?

Make sure above things are atleast met in the component diagram.

Thanks,
Kumar.

People got it by e-mail at one point when getting their failing scores. And we posted it on our FAQ.

In the assignment, if you look at the last section there it is mentioned that for each and every diagram max points and min points to pass. Atleast in my assignment I have this I don't know about others.

I also failed this exam with my score as 117 and passing score as 114.

Looks like, I did not get enough score in deployment diagram (13 out of 24) for missing server configuration. Actually I did put configuration into a separate deployment word document. It looks like they did not see it as I did not mention in my deployment diagram (even though it is attached) and they put remarks as OS/APP Server etc missing configuration. Is there anyway to communicate with oracle certification team and tell them to see over this document without re-submitting the assignment again. Please let me know their communication email address, if someone knows it.

Also, I did not receive my result via email or regular mail so far. I checked my result at Pearson website. Do oracle inform at all or not?

I appreciate all the help in advance.

Hi Deep,

I am not sure whether they will provide any information saying that they have gone through your submitted deployment diagram or not. But there is no harm in trying it with them. Most of queries related to the assignment are sent to architect-submit_US@oracle.com.

Let us know in case if they provide any such information to you on this.

Thanks,
Kumar.

Thanks a lot Naresh. I did send the email with details. I am just hoping that someone in Oracle read it and take some action.

I will update the thread if miracle did happen and Oracle team was able to act on my email.

I did sent the email. No reply so far.

I think, SCEA certification process is getting worse after SUN is acquired by Oracle. They have added more step to squeeze more money out of candidates. I believe they will try all the trick to fail candidate and get more money out of certification.

I wish I have finished this exam once it was under.

Can't comment on this as my experience with Sun/Oracle during 2009 to 2011(Feb) has been very good.

Deep,

The server configuration can be mentioned IN THE DEPLOYMENT DIAGRAM as tagged values. Where as having a separate word document is good, specifying them in the diagram itself is better.

You can specify OS, RAM, Hard disk size, VMWare / Physical, Number of CPU's etc. as tagged values.

{OS=Solaris}
{RAM=8 GB}
{CPU=Dual Core Intel P5}
{Heap Size=....} etc.

This gives the examiner a more vivid picture of what you are trying to convey than in another document. Hope this helps.

I had queries during my assignment and I sent email architect-submit_US@oracle.com and they were responsive.
