Posting here because I know some people are involved with FIRST robotics. We had the NYC regional last weekend. I mentor a team in the area with programming. Javaranch.com appears on the back of our t-shirts with a bunch of real companies because that is the name I gave when they asked where I worked. And I won the mentor of the year award this year. It's called the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award and is a mobius strip. Very cool!
JoeBot. It was named after a guy who was on the team from the beginning and mentored extensively after he graduated. This year he moved away but still helps where he can.
Congratulations!
Are those ball bearings? That would be more apt.
Is it a single or double twist? I remember this one from when I was a kid. The twist(s) define if you ended up with a single continuous loop or two interlocked ones, when you cut it down the center.

I don't think a double twist is a mobius strip, since it has two sides...

Wow! Congrats, how did you feel when your name was announced? Were you aware of it before? or was it a surprise? (From the video I think it was a surprise )

I knew I was nominated. (but I thought it wasn't in NY.) I didn't hear my name. I found out when I saw the screen as evidenced by the video.
