Hello Ranchers,

I have just joined the MNC company but the work load is heavy they have assigned me a module which is on JQuery(i don't know even JavaScript correctly) and Struts 2 on top they don't have documentation for the code and the working hours is more too (about 12 hours).
It seems to me i'm going MAD , i was way happy in my StartUp Company where i use handle most of the codes ,but over here i need to maintain existing code (Modify) and they code every where they get a chance in JSP too (huge usage of Scriplets).
I am more Frustrated over Here !!

I need to Quit this Job and join some old fashioned Startup company , is my decision right ?

regards,
Arun

Why not discuss this with your superior? Are others doing similar crazy hours or just you because you are going through a steep learning curve?

JQuery is a really useful skills. As is MVC (even if Struts 2 isn't as common.)

When you say startup, I think you mean smaller company. Because startups tend to be very long hours as well.

If you were happy in your previous company, why did you leave?

No company is perfect, and this where you need to get your soft skills into play. Chase up the right people, take initiative, communicate your frustrations to your superior, etc. Nothing is wrong in putting your hand up to get some help.

Just to add my few cents. I was in your situation few months back when the company I worked for started a new Spring Web Flow/jQuery project. It was a chaos. But, believe me, attitude matters, I started doing hello world Spring Web Flow and other hello world programs to understand whats happening. At the same time I did basic examples using jQuery, this took me about couple of weeks. After that I am competent and helped another guy who is struggling. Have positive attitude and learn it, after all its not alien technology Also, this is beginning technology changing every hour.

Yup, your decision is very right. If your not happy in your job, why would you stay? Just follow what you want, there is a lot of interesting job out there, just pick the right job for you.
