I am extremely very disappointed. I studied hard for 15 months. I spent a lot of sleepless nights. I cracked a lot of mock test and Exam simulators. Java was freely flowing in my veins. It was time to take the OCPJP 6 exam. The stage was set. I paid my fees on Pearson VUE. The test center also charged me for my intention to sit for the exam there. Then BOOM! The exam engine failed to download. After 2 hrs i was told download was complete but the exam could not launch because the VM on the machine was out of date. This smartly dressed exam attendant then launched a download of the JRE 6. The progress bar was showing 46 hours to the end of the download. I started feeling the torture. To cut the story short i was at the center from 10 am to 5 pm and still could not take the exam. I gazed at the nearby wall there was a seal which read "PEARSON VUE Authorized testing center". Another one read "PEARSON VUE Certificate of excellence awarded to XXX for exhibiting exemplary service delivery". It was shocking, disappointing and above all vexing to undergo such torturous, excruciating treatment by this exam center for long hours and in the end couldn't write the exam. Their customer service was so poor. They didn't even show a hint of remorse. It's been three weeks and they haven't reverted to me. I don't know where i stand now. They have left me in limbo. Exam status on Pearson VUE account shows "Error". I need to move forward. I need now to pursue Business component or web component developer courses. Please somebody come to the rescue. I want to take the exam it's been long-over-due. I don't want to pay for it again because i have already done so. The exam center here are of no help. They are pathetic. I wrote to Pearson VUE they haven't replied to me for weeks. I need to settle this matter. What else should i do? Mr. Bates, Ms Sierra, Mr. Cooray, anybody! Please help! My email address is email@example.com or please call me am on +260 977 434194
Thanks for your response sir. I am based in Zambia and there aren't that many testing centers in the region. I think there were 2 methods for me to pay for the exam, by way of purchasing a voucher and paying directly to Pearson VUE. I opted for the direct route. Also please may you suggest contacts of help-line personnel anything along those lines. I will really appreciate. Thanks.
I realize that you are very upset because of that situation but remember that certification is just a cherry on the cake. You have learned Java basics and you have strong foundamentals in this language. This knowledge is priceless. Keep up learning and study hard and you will get your reward!
Backing to your problem... If I were you I would contact PearsonVUE: http://www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/contact/ . If there is not your contry, just pick the closest one and tell about the situation.
However, you should go to the centre where you sat the exam. Just go there and ask for one more exam session for free. It is your right.
Thanks Lucas for your encouragement. The center i went to and got me into this predicament is ICT Resource Foundation. Katanga methodist is in Congo DR some 1000 km from here. I recently found out about Astitute and Celmak. These 2 are near where i am so i will be trying on of them. Thanks for the link to Pearson VUE contact. I shall proceed first by exhausting that channel. Thanks once again.
Finally i wrote the exam successfully! I passed with 73%. What next after OCP Java SE 6 professional exam? I would like also to switch my job to one more focused on software development. It will do me a lot of good but there aren't many java jobs here in my country. Any ideas where i can find a good java developer job out there like a website or something? I will most appreciate. Thank you.
