Accumulating Thread Trace back to defect code.

Hello,

can anybody recommend a tool which can trace back from a running thread thru all the code which was involved in its creation?
We have an application which relies heavily on JMS. It runs on JBoss 4.2.2. I see UIL.SocketManager accumulating until the system crashes.
I have looked thru the code to identify classes which might not close JMS resources properly, but I have not been successful so far.

Many thanks,

Hans
