BTW what do you mean by "advance java programming" ? By certification you mean SCJP ?
Training classes generally suck. They are usually run by douche bags and &*&*heads. Take Head first java, thinking in java and k&b book and learn your self by developing code. Trust me, you can achieve more that way.
Those "classes" can only get you so far. They will only teach you the syntax mostly and some one-liners (about things like VMs, reflection, coupling etc) that they picked up to sound knowledgeable. I have been to one before and I have friends who are wasting their money on others. I can say that I know more than them and I can make real code instead of advanced versions of hello world.
