Again, welcome, Reese's. I have another question for you.

What features, new in 7, do you think are best for improvements when looking down the road (i.e. to 8, etc.)? Maybe what is something initially implemented but expansion would/will be nice?

A significant part of Java 7 is the extensive support for file/directory operations. The directory traversal techniques (SimpleFileVistor) and the support for WatchEvents are nice. One area where this could be further expanded upon in Java 8 could be in GUI support for these type classes. Either better integration between these classes and the GUI components or new components could be developed that directly support these features would be nice. It would simplify application development and augment the GUI interface.
