Hi,

I would like to pursue a certification in Java Web Services. I understand that a prior OCJP is required for that. But is OCJA a must to complete this certification path? Can I altogether avoid OCJA and just go for OCJP and OCPJWDS?

Thanks,
Arun

I believe OCPJP 6 does not require any other certifications.

But for OCPJP 7 you'll need the OCJA 7 first (only if you are not yet certified).

SCJA, SCJP (1.4 | 5.0 | 6.0), SCJD

Please visit Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 5 Web Services Developer Preparation Article.

Now OCAJ 7 Certifications only launched. OCPJP 7 now in Beta version only. So Java SE 5 or 6 enough for OCPJWDS.

Good luck for your preparation.

Thanks.
Abraham
