invoking from method within a controller : ( groovy )

Hi Folks,

Please let me know how to achieve this. I have a controller named BuddyController.groovy:

  class BuddyController {

      def fooBar = {

        def parameterOne = params.parmone
        def parameterTwo = params.paramtwo
        // Some processing with the above data...
       .....
       ....
        def someBeanInstance = new SomeBean()
        someBeanInstance.status = true

        withFormat{
            json{ render someBeanInstance as JSON }
            xml{ render someBeanInstance as XML }
        }
      }
    
      // Some method. 
      def private SomeBean myFunction(String hello)  {
	
          // QUestion, Can I call the above fooBar this way, since the
          // myFunction is within the same controller ?. And use the result ?
          // def testStatus = fooBar(someparameterone, someparametertwo)

          boolean istestPassed = testStatus.status
          def somebean = new SomeBean()
          somebean.status = istestPassed        
          return somebean
     }
}

Where SomeBean is a Simple Data Bean in another package :

}
