Hello Everyone,

This is Pankaj Singh.I am just on a beginning phase of my career. And I have got my first job in J2ME mobile application development.

But My seniors told me that J2ME doesn't have a bright future and jobs in J2ME profile are decreasing day by day.

Company wants to sign 2 years bond and my seniors told me that after 2 years I wont get any job just like them.

So I need some of you to please guide me in the same..

should I sign bond or not...???

Is there any chances to switch from J2ME to android..and J2ME work experience will count in for android..??

Please give me some suggestions.

Thanking You,
Pankaj Singh

I'd agree that JME (it hasn't been called J2ME for years) has little future. While there are still lots of low cost devices being sold that have it, none of the "hot" smartphones has it these days. Two of its biggest backers -Nokia and BlackBerry- are stepping away from it. Given that, committing to JME for 2 years seems folly. In that time, the other mobile OSes will develop by leaps and bounds, wheres JME will stand still as a platform, and decline as a market. If you're not in the field already, then it's unlikely that you will pick up a lot of knowledge during that time that will make you a desirable employee to work on other mobile platforms afterwards, IMO.

Since this is really about job/career prospects, I've moved it here from the Java ME section.

Thank You for you valuable suggestions.

That means j2me mobile application development experience is not going to help me in future.

Sir I have done B.Tech with Information Technology and have done good preparation in core and advance JAVA both.

can you help me what else should I do to get better job because every company here in INDIA is asking for experience when we don't get job as fresher where will we get experience.

Please Suggest me what else I should do to make carrier in development.

Thanking You,
Pankaj Singh

It is a vicious cycle, and all you can do is keep applying, and while applying try some of the other things like

-- Getting some experience on your CV
-- job hunting tips

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
