Problem with html:select

I am using JavaScript to fill in elements in list on the page. My code adds all options properly to list. But when i view the new page it is by default selecting all the options in list. Wherein none of the option should be selected. Is there any solution to this problem? Is there any property to be set that will deselect all the options?

Thanks in advance.

Just make sure that in your JavaScript code, you set the selected property of each option to false.
