Take a look here:

http://www.jforum.net/confluence/display/migration/phpbb

It should work, but the tool should be updated to include some features added in 2.1.6 (like polls)

I too have tried to use this tool, and the modified version by redhand. I'm trying to go from Postgres -> Postgres. After hacking up the code to make it work, Jforum knows about some things (number of users, number of posts, usernames) but I am unable to see any posts or topics.

Is this code dependent on 2.1.4 or 2.1.5? Do I need to migrate to an old version and then upgrade to 2.1.6?

You should reset all permissisions, as JForum does not import them from PHPBB.

Ok, I figured it out. You indeed HAVE TO remove all permissions and ALSO reset them by going into the admin interface and edit or at least SAVE the permissions for each group from there. Please add these instructions to the migration document.

I'm having the same problems with this tool as the Anonymous poster who posted on the 24th. After running the migration tool and setting the permissions for the admin user, I am able to login and get to the admin pages, but at no point am I able to see either Categories or Forums. Please advise, even though I can see them in the database when I look with phpMyAdmin.
