Hello all,

I am in the process of writing a converter (actually, extending the existing phpbb to jforum converter) to move MVNForum data to JForum so I can make MVNForum go away forever from a friend's server. I have one problem that I am hoping someone can help me with:
I am trying to decode the Base64 encoded password so I can MD5.crypt it to convert it from MVNForum to JForum.
Has anyone ever done this? Could you offer some pointers?

Thanks in advance!

ok, I found my own answer... MVN uses a one-way digest encryption. So, I have to create a temporary password and store it then force the users migrated to log in with the temporary password and then change it once they are logged in.

Hello MadOtis, have you been able to succesfully convert MVNforum to JForum? If so, I would be very interested in getting the script/updated version of the phpbb2jforum converter that allows you to do this and/or a detailed description of the steps needed.

Thanks a lot!
