I need to move my jForum from RHEL3 to an Ubuntu system can I just copy over the folder in my webapps directory and the database or is there more than that? Like reinstalling and moving jForum info, configs, etc over?
When I went from RHEL3 to RHEL5 at one of my customers all I had to do was copy. I just don't want to bring my company forum down longer than absolutely needed.
Your help is deeply appreciated. [originally posted on jforum.net by John4randr]

That should be all you have to do.
Of course I'm assuming you will install the app server, permission the directories correctly, and migrate your database using the same username/password (not just copy the DB directory). [originally posted on jforum.net by GatorBait3]

Thank you very much for the reply.
App server already installed. DB (postgres) already installed. Password different, as it should be, but I know how to change that in jForum. Permissions will match. So... I'll let you know how it went.
Thank you again. [originally posted on jforum.net by John4randr]
