How to get emails for a watched forum

When i marked "watch this forum" i do not get any email although the email test worked

make sure that the user profile that you subscribed with has a valid email addy linked to it ...

In addition to that, make sure you have the newest version (2.1.8). Older versions are known to have issues with sending mails

I am facing the same problem that i do not get email from a watched forum.
I have installed the latest 2.1.8 version.
But I get replies for my posts.
IS there any more settings to be checked? or this is a bug?
