Forum <br /> issue after upgrade

Hello all, I am posting on behalf of admins and mods of tekforums
Due to server requirements and when invision powerboards became paid tekforums a quite popular forums moved to jforums and only till today was it upgraded to the 2.1.8 which has fixed and released tones of new features the admin were slow to do, still it is done now.

Lots of tweaks and settings have been worked on to get it up and running as you do but one problem that seems to have occured is that on posts new lines are not generated and the html code
posted instead of these new lines.

I have searched these forums for information and the admin have tried a few things as a result of some similar reading in regard to html codes etc like clearing cache but the issue still remains and no direct thread about this issue on here I could find.

Anyone have any idea what can cause this and where/what file it could be located in or fixed or is it a setting?

Thanks

I don't see any clear reason of why that's happening. Won't be possible that some of the tweaks you guys did broke the code? (maybe a partial merge / old code).

I had the same issue when changed

to

in header.htm

The issue seems to be in loaded of shCore.js while editing/previewing message.
It was wrong "fix", and correct (at least for me) fix is tweaking hasCodeBlock instruction in post_show.htm:

Now it works fine

Rafael, please try 2.1.8 in Firefox 2.0.0.x (f.ex 2.0.0.12):
* "Quick Reply" is opened by default and is not expanding/collapsing
* when you create new message (or post reply) with .code. , .quote. or just simple line breaks - it inserts escaped html in message body; 'quick and dirty' workaround is to save this message again.

The same behaviour reported when using Opera 9.x

So, a suggestion is to ensure this stuff is working in FF (mainstream opensource browser ); i'm struggling with these issues on my 2.1.8 forum, but no success jet. I'll inform you about any progress.

And, BTW: we designed custom, "light" forum theme; you can check it here: http://jug.ORG.ua/forum; if you're interested i can send you diff to default theme

upd: if this forum runs "vanilla" 2.1.8, "quick reply" and "code" stuff works fine; definitely, maybe the problem is somewhere in local installation;

and, one thing more: when working behind proxy, IE refreshes well, but we constantly and instantly need press "Ctrl+F5" when using Firefox to actually refresh forum.

One thing more: when few users are behind the same proxy and surfs the forum, they see the same cached pages.
For example:
* i logged in
* my fellow goes to the title page
* ... and see that he's logged into my account!

So, caching mechanism via

is not sufficient. Need some interactions with http server

The pragma: no-cache header is for HTTP 1.0 only. Try adding:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="CACHE-CONTROL" CONTENT="NO-CACHE">

This is the HTTP 1.1 version.

Also, the spec defines 0 and not -1 as the page expires "now" value. So change the Expires value as well.

All these should go in the header.htm template file.

If this doesn't work, then the proxy server is not following the standards and you'll need to talk to it's administrator about that.

i add <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" /> and change the value to '0" for
"Expires" in header.htm. But it doesn't work.

Then i try make a filter that add these meta tags and mapping *.page in web.xml.Now seems to no any problem until now.I just try both IE and firefox.
