About Chinese in mysql

I can post a new topic with chinese, and the words show on the page correctly . But they show "???" in the database.
I use UTF-8 to decode.
I dont' know why? Someone help me, please.

I've the same problem on turkish characters.
I've entered into forum as an admin and changed character set to iso-8859-9
but some characters still showing "?"

yeah , its not UTF-8 but still having the problem.
I ve done all mysql db to latin5 turkish char set but still having the problem!
Also i ve made config on admin settings , changed charset to iso-8859-9 but the problem still occurs. [originally posted on jforum.net by kadirbasol]
