I'm currently working through the process of installing jForum on MS SQL Server 2005 and I ran into some issues when executing the original sqlserver_db_struct.sql file. Here are the things I had to change to get past the errors. The location of this file is within the jforum-2.1.8\WEB-INF\config\database\sqlserver directory.
In short, the only errors I was getting were within the CREATE TABLE function for jforum_moderation_log. See the changes below.
CREATE TABLE CREATE TABLE [dbo].[jforum_moderation_log] (
[log_id] [bigint] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
[user_id] [bigint]) NOT NULL,
[log_description] BLOB[varbinary](max) NOT NULL,
[log_date] DATE[datetime] NOT NULL,
[log_type] [tinyint] DEFAULT ((0)),
PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
) WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF) ON [PRIMARY]
) ON [PRIMARY]
Once I corrected these items, both the sqlserver_db_struct.sql file and the sqlserver_db_dump.sql file executed without errors and the data appears to have populated correctly.
Now for the real adventure. Working to get the jForum instance running on Ubuntu 8.10. It looks like we're going to have to do a manual install for SQL or intall for mySQL with the UI and then convert afterwards. Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.
Where does the sqlserver.sql file come into play? How about the sqlserver.properties file? [originally posted on jforum.net by cgabriel]
