I would like to know if the book prommoted this week is useful for people who are preparing for OCP JP 6. I mean, it would be better to read it after taking the exam in order to avoid confussions with the new Java 7 features?

The book clearly distinguishes Java 7 features from the rest. While reading the book, you may comfortably skip sections on Java 7.
