404 error with Tomcat 6.0.14

Hi,
I have an application deployed on my tomcat 6.0.14. It is an update site where a user can access the site to get a plugin that can be installed in the IDE (for example - using "Install New Software" in eclipse). It was working fine but suddenly it is giving Tomcat 404 error but i couldnt find any error in any of the log files of tomcat and with my application everything is fine.
i had tried redeploying the application and restarted the tomcat also but in vain..
Can any one please help me out in this...

Can you please show us the URL(s) that are giving the 404 errors, and the servlet and servlet-mapping elements from your web.xml file?
