Welcome to CodeRanch!

This usually happens if there are conflicting versions of servlet/tomcat/etc jars in your classpath. Can you check if you are pointing to any such jars from the JForum lib directory? (Ones under WEB-INF/lib should be safe.)

If you aren't a Java developer/don't know how to do this, reply to this post with the name and version of your server. (Tomcat 6, JBoss, etc)
