Hello,

I'm looking to learn PHP. However, I'd like to learn from a book that doesn't assume one is completely new to programming,
the HTTP protocol, etc..

is there such a book?

thanks,
Michael

I haven't read them but the animal covered O'Reilly books on PHP are likely to be what you are looking for. That series isn't known for being verbose. And all the books I've read in the series on other topics are fast moving and information dense.
