i recently cleared OCJPJP thanks to javaranch. Know few of the people Henry, Saloni, John, Seetharaman, feels like a family . I'm in a software company and have just completed a year. i would like to do another certification. i'm confused between web component vs. web services. would like to know the expert advice. personally i feel servlets and jsp's are not that in scope compared to SOA architecture. these days we use web application framework struts , springs etc. i have knowledge of servlets and jsp's and i think it would be sufficient. but i want to be sure of right direction. Please help me and share your experience. which one should i go for ?

Personally, I prefer Web Component Certification, then web service. If you do web component, you can get strong fundamental knowledge in JEE. take any framework in which you are going to put web services, there jsp and servlet thorough understanding is important.
I would also advise not to stop learning core Java. There are advanced topics and good books like 'Effective Java' to help us in good coding practices. Now that you are certified you can read the Java Puzzlers and enjoy the puzzles. You can also see related questions asked in the Job Discussion forum.
