how to create alarm/remainder in my app?

i am trying to create a birthday alarm app.
i am creating a form, and storing and fetching data from files.
the problem is, when someone's birthday is there on some day, system should alarm or something like this, i don't know how to implement this??

You could use Java Calendar or Date to Match the Current time and the Date of each Person in the Stored files. One question Though, What Kind of Files have you stored the dates in?

no my question is, how do i alarm that??
i mean each time when system turn's on, i want to alarm the birthday.

What Kind of Files have you stored the dates in?

text files.
is it not good of using text files here??

You can use whatever File you want to use. Just Know How to use them. Use a Buffered reader and a While Loop to read upto the End of the Text File. If a Line on the File Matches Your Current date (Just day and Month) Then Sound the Alarm or a Pop Up Reminder. I hope this helps.

i mean i want to start this app as the system start, so it check each time the system starts.

About Starting up with the System, You can Always Schedule that from the machine Level so that when the System Starts, the Application Also Starts.
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
