Reading the contents of a .tif in java

Hi,
I have a requirement wherein i have to read the contents of a TIF file in java.
The file contains demographics of a customer and i would need to extract these details.
Can anyone please let me know how this can be achieved in java.

The javax.imageio.ImageIO class has methods that you can use to read a TIFF file if properly enabled (see https://coderanch.com/t/445956/open-source/add-tiff-writer-imageio-package).

If the TIFF has text rendered into it you're in the realm of OCR, and you need to find some suitable implementation (like Tesseract, which has Java bindings IIRC).
