It should. Any "real world" experience is better than none.
Ask the company. There is no way any of us could answer for their policies.
If you have a successful internship and prove your worth, then they may.

On our team, we look for interns who show they have potential, initiative, and a good work ethic. We look for people who can work well with the team and who are not afraid to speak out when they feel strongly about something or have doubts about how to get the work done.

5 Days!! There's 360 left!
They barely know your name by now.
Be patient. Make some friends, talk to them at lunch or outside the outside.
Ask if there is a history of hiring interns (the "good" ones.)
You have plenty of time to prove yourself.
Worrying about 2013 will cause you grief and undue stress.

Punit,
Yes, it counts as experience. It's like a one year job. I recommend waiting at least 3 months before asking. Bringing it up too early makes it look like aren't valuing the internship. Or could be misconstrued in some other similar way.

Contribute first and prove yourself as a valuable member of the team, and then ask for what you aspire.

yes, and in those 5 days, i done my training only, and had no more interaction with my team, only a formal introduction that's it.
