Need help for Job Seeking

Hi,

I have done my UG B.Tech/IT in India, and February 2012 I have completed my MBA general in UK, now I am residing in UK and searching JOB in IT, but I am not getting interview calls for IT jobs, and I am having experience in Java,J2ee for 2 years. I am very confused about my job search, anybody guide me which job can I apply and try? I have been searching for a job since 6 months. Please anybody guide me.

Not getting the initial interviews means that you are not passing the first culling -- the HR round. I suggest you revisit your resume, your cover letter, and even the processes and resources that you are using to send out your resume.

No offence, but you may want to improve your English language skills.

Your seem experienced enough and it is quite difficult to get that across in telephone or face to face interviews.

Many make the same mistakes I made 12 years ago. I had my masters as well, but was unemployed for 1.5 years. This is mainly because failing to understand the importance of job hunting skills, resume writing skills, interviewing skills and much needed soft skills like communication, interpersonal, etc.

-- Firstly, learn about writing an effective resume

-- Apply what you learn to writing your resume

-- Get someone to critically review your resume.

Improving on your English takes time and is an ongoing process.

-- blogging can help with your writing skills
-- Listen to English radio
-- Talk to you friends in English.

I don't know about any specific blogs, but many here on ranch have their own blogs you can refer them, for example arulk pillai who has replied to your query has his own blog. Just see the link below his reply.
