Hi everyone
I got 68% in the java certification test conducted by niit..
And now i am going to take ocjp exam... Can you please tell me the books needed to prepare for that exam..?
In niit itself they gave me a java book.. Is that book useful for the ocjp exam or should i go for any other book..?

Hi Ravi,
I don't know the hardness of the NIIT exam, but you can find lots of references here (Programmer Certification forum).
If you ask for books, then "OCJP 6 K&B"is a very good reference. Other than that, "Effective Java" Joshua Bloch is also good one.
I think the NIIT book is kind of a "Work Book" type and that doesn't fulfill a reference type enough.

for ocpjp certification Ocp guide by kathy seirra and bert bates is considered the best. also there is one book by khalid mughal. that book also is good . effective java by Josh Bloch is a great great book but it is not specifically for certification. it is also not for learning java. as the name says the book teaches you the best practices and provides useful thoughts to java programming.

OCPJP 6(100 %) OCEWCD 6(91 %)

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
