scjp 6 or ocpjp 7?

I m B.tech final year student. Can anyone please help me decide that which certification is beneficial for me at this stage??

the latest one ofcourse. but remember that for ocpjp 7 you have to clear ocaj 7 certification as a pre-requisite. you cannot directly appear in ocpjp 7 as was in scjp 6/5.

I had started preparing for ocjp 6.. so will it be fyn if I first clear ocjp 6 and then give upgrade exam for ocpjp 7 if required??

yeah you can do that. infact i'm planning to do that.

As an upgrade, its better if you go for OCJP7. There has been some changes in JDK7 so expect fair amount of changes in the exam.
