Why are you assuming there is a point?

Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I believe the last holiday that we added was "train day" -- which of course, is an Amtrak holiday..... I guess there could have been a marketing tie-in, but it was more like... "Hey, cool. Train day. Interesting, train day show. Wonder how the moose will celebrate train day"? So, I recommended it.
Unless of course, you meant the point of the holiday itself, then I don't know...

Usually I think we have days for animals because we like to acknowledge their part in the ecosystem and to realize that environmental degradation leads to their depletion.
In our office the Sparrow day was celebrated and mails were circulated on the fast decreasing rate of sparrows in the cities.

Every dog has its day, and recently the snake lobby has demanded equality.
